The Cosmic Lounge presents Deep House Music: 'Market' by Luomo. "Luomo is a moniker of Sasu Ripatti (b.1976), a prolific Finnish house producer, who also creates music as Conoco, Sistol, Uusitalo, and most recognizably Vladislav Delay. Luomo is one of the pioneers of microhouse. On his records he combines minimal, 'click' sounds with deep, dubby, hypnotic basslines layered over an ambient background to give a slick, warm feeling heightened by dreamy and airy vocals. The songs, usually stretched up to 10 minutes or more, feature lots of improvisation. Luomo debuted on Force Tracks with two 12'' followed by a powerful LP, Vocalcity (2000), a cornerstone of deep house/microhouse music. The follow-up, The Present Lover (2003) was somewhat more of an accessible record, which gained him further popularity and acclaim from both fans and critics of electronic music. Just great
I've read great reviews about Nicola Conte work and CDs by Les Hommes, but the Balanco CD doesn't seem to be as popular. This CD is just at the same level. If you like the new Bossa genre, "More" is a must have.
